What I'm Going To Do This Weekend
What I want to do this weekend is go to the park. I want to go to the park because if it's really hot outside the sprinklers turn on. And when the sprinklers turn on you get to wear your bathing suit and people put water on the slides and it makes the slide a WATER SLIDE!!!! YESS!

Anniversary Celllophane Tape
The precursor to the current tapes was developed in the 1930s in Minneapolis, Minnesota by Richard Drew to seal a then-new transparent material known as cellophane. Although it is a trademarked brand name, it is commonly used in the US and elsewhere as a generic term for transparent adhesive tape. The Scotch brand includes many different constructions of tape.
Use of the term "Scotch" in the name has a pejorative origin. To cut costs 3M applied the adhesive only to the edges of the tape

Poetry Day
World Poetry Day is on 21 March, and was declared by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 1999. The purpose of the day is to promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry throughout the world and, as the UNESCO session declaring the day says, to "give fresh recognition and impetus to national, regional and international poetry movements". It was generally celebrated in October, sometimes on the 5th, but in the latter part of the 20th Century the world community celebrated it on 15 October, the birthday of Virgil, the Roman epic poet and poet laureate under Augustus. The tradition to keep an October date for national or international poetry day celebrations still holds in many countries.

National Bike-To-Work Day
Bike-to-Work Day is an annual event held on the third Friday of May across the United States and Canada that promotes the bicycle as an option for commuting to work. Leading up to Bike-to-Work Day, national, regional, and local bicycle advocacy groups encourage people to try bicycle commuting as a healthy and safe alternative to driving by providing route information and tips for new bicycle commuters. On Bike-to-Work Day, these groups often organize bicycle-related events, and in some areas, pit stops along bicycle routes with snacks. In 2010 Bike-to-Work day will be on Friday May 21.

My Wonderful Day
Today at school we had Judith Moffatt come to our school. In case you don't know who she is she is an illustrator/ author. The reason why she came is because she is mostly a illustrator and in school we are working on stories and we need illustrations. All of her illustrations are out of cut paper. My story involves a horse. My story is about A Crazy Horse Ride.

National Day Of Prayer
The National Day of Prayer is an annual day of observance held on the first Thursday of May, designated by the United States Congress, when people are asked "to turn to God in prayer and meditation". The law formalizing its annual observance was enacted in 1952, and is being challenged in court.
I think there had been at least two individual national days of prayer in U.S. History before the day was made an official annual day of observance in 1952.
